April Recap

Image
In pretend play, students practiced exchanging money for goods through our class flower shop.  In social studies, we focused on economics as students learned about goods and services.  In math, we learned about Gus the Plus, Ellie the Equal, and Linus the Minus. Students continued practicing counting skills as they learned about addition and subtraction. We used the stories Animals on Board and Ducks Away to practice addition. For subtraction, we used the book Five Speckled Frogs. In ELA we continued practicing our sight words, word families, and beginning sounds. We read stories about different ways that people earn money and why (for needs/wants). In writing, students practiced doing shared research observations and forming sentences based on personal experiences. In specials, everyone loved jamming out in music and playing with our Frankie Friends. We had a blast at the Life and Science Museum together. April was great and we are excited for all the fun to come in the month...
