December Blog
In the month of December, we have been learning and exploring through our pretend play Holiday Center. Students have enjoyed decorating a tree, putting candles in a menorah, building toys, mailing letters, and pretending to make cookies with friends around the fire place! In math, we continued our counting unit and practiced counting out items and creating sets. In science, we talked about how we can help others in our community. We talked about donating, making cards, volunteering, and giving a smile! In ELA we read Holiday Traditions and Traditions Day at School. We worked on retelling the story and identifying key details. We continued practicing letter identification and emphasized the two sounds that vowels O and E can make. In Letterland, we visited Eddy Elephant (e), Oscar Orange (o) & Peter Puppy (p). In social studies, we traveled to different countries and talked about how they celebrate Holidays. We talked about the Netherlands, Mexico, Sweden, China, Germany, India & France. We have loved singing holiday songs in music and visiting with our Frankie Friends. We enjoyed having Santa visit and decorating cookies together! We are wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday break! See you in January!
