In the month of November, we have been learning and exploring through old fashion pretend play center as we learn about how things were long ago versus now. Students have been practicing cooking food over a fire, using a wash board to wash clothes, and building a home from long ago (made of logs). In our usual housekeeping center, students have been pretending to cook on the stove and wash clothes in the washing machine like we do today. In math, we began our counting unit and practiced counting with stories like Bear Counts and Animals at the Zoo. Students had fun exploring numbers, counting out various objects, and counting to tell how many.
